DIY Influencer Media Kit

A media kit is a must for any influencer, especially for those wanting to work with brands and businesses. It is your way of showcasing who you are and what makes you unique. Your kit will be used like your business card, resume, and portfolio of work all in one document”. Allowing for a comprehensive understanding of who you are as an influencer, and assisting you to stand out in the world of social media. It’s the easiest way to get your name out there to brands you’re dying to work with!

In this industry having a media kit is vital as most brands request media kits from potential influencer partners so not having one can actually lead to you missing big opportunities.  As an influencer, a media kit should also be a representation of who you are and the type of content you produce. It is another opportunity for you to express yourself and show businesses who you are and what your social media presence looks like. It will help them decide if you have the right personal brand and style for the job.

You’re probably wondering, what should I include in my kit?

For a moment, pretend you’re the marketing manager of one of your favourite brands. What are the types of things you’d like to know about the influencers you’d be partnering with? Generally speaking, they’d be looking for a general introduction, information and statistics about who you are as an influencer. For example:

  • Who you are (your bio)

  • Your social statistics (Your reach and engagement levels on each platform)

  • Your audience (demographics: breakdown, age/ gender)

  • Your content/niche/interests

  • Your blog or website

  • Brands you've worked with (previous partnerships and testimonials)

With a standout colour grid feed that transitions beautifully from dreamy yellows to pinks to blues. It is for these reasons and more that Tara has such a large and dedicated following. She provides them with beautiful escapism with her images and dreamy collaborations with Louis Vuitton, Dior and Gucci just to name a few. Her niche is a whimsical luxury in terms of goods and travel, while also being approachable and down to earth which she does so via interactive Instagram stories. We can imagine that Tara’s media kit would most likely include the link to her website which is full of world travel and lifestyle blogs. It would also capture her interests and include imagery that is reflective of her creative style.
